The Evolution of Synthetic Grass Courts
The term, ‘Synthetic Grass’, may conjure thoughts of the unnatural looking grass found in butcher shop-windows or the carpet burns caused by falling on the artificial textile-grass surfaces of old. Nothing could be further from the reality of today’s Synthetic Grass technologies.
All Sport Projects are registered to supply and install Omnisport® synthetic grass surfaces for Tennis Courts and a variety of other outdoor recreation and sporting activities. Omnisport® synthetic grass is protected against UV degradation, offers value for money and is aesthetically pleasing. All Sport Projects are members of Housing Industry Australia (HIA).
Omnisport® synthetic grass products are manufactured using in-house proprietary yarns that are extruded in Australian and German production facilities. This Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) technologies are environmentally friendly with no use of heavy metals and all yarns optimised to cater for the harsh Australian climate.
Synthetic grass surfaces are designed to withstand Sun, Rain, Cloud and Snow and are glare and slip resistant. The grass comes in natural Green shades and Terracotta and Blue colours to match the court surface expectations of Tennis Clubs.
Synthetic grass surfaces require sand in-fill which varies from medium to high ratios depending on the level of sport or activity being played. For instance, Tennis Court surface responses can be varied by the type of grass-yarn weave and pile height (16-19mm) and the ratio of sand infill (medium to high).
Different combinations of sand infill ratio and the pile weave and height on Tennis Courts will vary the ITF Pace Ratings (medium to medium-fast); Spin Responses (medium, high, very high); and Ball Bounce (medium-low, medium, custom).
